Hotel Executive Housekeeper – Johannesburg

About the role

The hotel is seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead its housekeeping department in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and overall guest satisfaction while managing staff and resources.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the housekeeping department to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance standards are upheld.
• Oversee linen services, stock levels, distribution, and laundry procedures.
• Implement and monitor housekeeping audit procedures to maintain service quality.
• Conduct regular room inspections to ensure compliance with hotel standards.
• Schedule, train, and evaluate housekeeping staff performance.
• Control storage and usage of cleaning materials and supplies, including loss prevention.
• Handle guest requests, concerns, and complaints related to housekeeping.
• Maintain accurate records of operations, stock levels, and audits.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial housekeeping role, preferably in a hotel.
• Proven ability to manage large housekeeping operations and linen management.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
• Ability to handle stock control and loss prevention responsibilities.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
