Head of Finance – Southern Africa

About the role

Lead financial excellence across Southern Africa for a globally recognised mining and infrastructure leader. This senior position will shape finance strategy, drive performance, and ensure robust financial governance across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage financial control functions for all Southern African entities.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory regulations, and internal governance frameworks.
• Oversee tax, treasury, and audit processes, maintaining regulatory standards.
• Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting for board and audit committees.
• Manage cash flow, financial risk, and treasury controls regionally.
• Drive financial control projects such as mergers, acquisitions, and ERP implementations.
• Implement and maintain strong internal control frameworks and financial policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Required profile

• BCom Honours degree and CA(SA) qualification (non‑negotiable).
• Minimum 7 years post‑qualification experience in financial control.
• Proven track record in a dynamic, complex organisation.
• Experience in people management, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
• Exposure to multi‑entity or regional financial oversight; mining or heavy‑industry background advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems (Aurora preferred).
