About the role

Waves For Change (W4C) is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function of its innovative surf‑therapy programme for vulnerable youth in South Africa. The role ensures robust financial operations, accurate reporting, and audit‑ready grant finance management to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

Lead day‑to‑day finance operations across the organisation.
Oversee financial reporting, treasury activities, reconciliations and internal controls.
Produce accurate monthly management accounts, variance analysis, budget‑to‑actual reporting and rolling cash‑flow forecasts.
Coordinate finance department workflows and priorities.
Ensure grant finance management complies with donor requirements and is audit‑ready.
Support the CFO with reliable financial information for strategic planning.

Required profile

Operational finance leadership experience.
Grant finance oversight capability.
Treasury oversight and cash‑flow management.
Compliance and audit preparation expertise.
Finance governance operationalisation skills.
Proven team leadership abilities.
