Head Concierge – Pre-opening

About the role

The Head Concierge will lead the concierge team during the pre‑opening phase of The Cape Town EDITION Hotel, ensuring an exceptional first‑impression for guests. This senior position combines guest‑service expertise with operational oversight to set the standard for luxury hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests for transportation, reservations, dry‑cleaning and other special services, coordinating with internal departments and external providers.
• Provide accurate information on hotel amenities, local attractions and activities, and supply directions as needed.
• Monitor club lounge seating, service quality, safety and guest well‑being.
• Review shift logs and daily memos, prioritising any outstanding requests from the previous day.
• Report accidents, injuries or unsafe conditions, and ensure completion of required safety training.
• Maintain uniform, appearance and confidentiality standards in line with company policy.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, serving as a role model for the concierge team.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and security procedures.
• Professional demeanor with excellent verbal communication and etiquette.
• Ability to build positive working relationships and support team goals.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, lift and move objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
