Full Time Lecturer: Sport Management

About the role

The role involves teaching Sport Management modules within the Higher Certificate in Personal Training and Diploma in Sport Management programmes at the Tygervalley Campus, Cape Town. The lecturer will design and deliver lectures, lead discussions, and run practical sessions to support student learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, workshops and tutorials, both face‑to‑face and online.
• Design, update and maintain course content, curriculum and instructional materials.
• Use a variety of teaching methods and digital tools to accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Develop and administer assessments, evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor student progress, keep accurate academic records and offer mentorship.
• Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring alignment with industry developments and accreditation standards.
• Engage in continuous professional development and collaborate on teaching‑related research.
• Handle administrative duties such as attendance, grading, reporting and committee participation.
• Promote an inclusive classroom environment and support students from diverse backgrounds.

Required profile

• An NQF Level 8 (Honours) degree in Sport Sciences or a related field.
• Relevant industry experience is essential.
• Prior lecturing experience in both face‑to‑face and online environments is advantageous.
