Front Desk Agent

About the role

HYDE Johannesburg Rosebank, a lifestyle hotel brand described as a festival-inspired food lovers' destination with 131 rooms, is looking for a Front Desk Agent. The role covers guest bookings, arrivals, stays, billing and departures, guest preferences, and the safety and security of the hotel, working closely with other service departments.

Key responsibilities

• Use booking, arrival, stay, billing and departure software and property management tools to manage guests and their preferences
• Ensure guest accommodation meets the highest hotel standards and that guest safety and security are maintained
• Collaborate efficiently with other service departments and follow guest service policies, processes and standards
• Help integrate new team members, support team development and take part in performance appraisals
• Apply quality standards, report opportunities to improve them and help raise guest feedback metrics
• Run a daily pit-check to make sure charges are posted correctly and unallocated balances are resolved quickly
• Reduce equipment and stock consumption, report imminent stock-outs and look for up-sell and cross-sell opportunities

Required profile

• Qualification in Hospitality Management / Leadership
• Significant background in front office service of a luxury hotel
• 2 years of previous experience in hospitality front office operations of a luxury hotel
• Ability to anticipate future circumstances and requests and plan ahead

Required skills

• Proficiency in OPERA Cloud
• Property management software and communication tools
