Food & Beverage Hostess – Pre-Opening

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and attentive Food & Beverage Hostess to join the pre‑opening team at The Cape Town EDITION Hotel. In this front‑of‑house position you will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth seating experience throughout the dining areas.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, determine party size and escort them to clean, appropriately set tables.
• Pull out chairs, place menus, napkins, silverware and any additional place‑setting items.
• Monitor dining room flow, arrange seating for groups with special needs and maintain a tidy work environment using clean‑as‑you‑go practices.
• Check that menus are current, clean and plentiful.
• Follow all safety, security and emergency procedures, report accidents or unsafe conditions and complete required safety training.
• Maintain a professional uniform, personal appearance and confidentiality of guest and company information.
• Answer telephone calls with proper etiquette and assist guests with any inquiries.
• Support team members, foster positive working relationships and contribute to achieving service quality standards.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and lift, carry or move objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
• Clear, professional communication skills in English.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to follow company policies and procedures.
