Fitter – Mechanical Maintenance

About the role

This full‑time onsite position in Viljoenskroon focuses on maintaining plant equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety and reliability. The successful candidate will join the production support team and play a key role in keeping machinery running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled, preventive and breakdown mechanical maintenance on plant equipment.
• Diagnose faults, repair or replace faulty components and restore machinery to operational condition.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify equipment integrity.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update logs after each job.
• Support production operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment availability.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Perform any additional duties delegated by management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety procedures and reliable record‑keeping.
