Fitter (Hydraulics & Hose Crimping)

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity at our client based in Cape Town looking for a Fitter. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing hydraulic piping, hoses and mechanical systems on plants, machinery and mobile equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair hydraulic pipes, hoses, tubing and fittings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
• Measure, cut, bend and prepare pipes and tubing.
• Assemble and replace hydraulic hoses, fittings and couplings.
• Perform hydraulic hose crimping and hose assembly.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic leaks, pressure issues and damaged components.
• Work with hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, motors and manifolds.
• Conduct pressure and functional testing of hydraulic systems.
• Maintain and repair plant, machinery and mobile equipment.
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance, replace worn or damaged components.
