Financial Internship (6 positions)

About the role

The Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality offers a two‑year financial internship for six candidates. The role supports the Budget & Treasury Services department in implementing financial reforms and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Implementation of GRAP and budget reforms, including financial and performance reporting.
• Change risk and project management, overseeing expenditure and revenue management.
• Implementation of MFMA and asset management processes.
• Development and implementation of financial policies in line with the municipality’s Employment Equity Plan.
• Verification of merged data sets, correcting errors during data integration.
• Accessing system fields to insert or update information related to completed documentation.

Required profile

• Matric certificate.
• Completed three‑year diploma or equivalent in Financial Management, Management Accounting, Local Government Finance or Economic Science (accounting specialization preferred).
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.

What we offer
