Financial Consultant (George)

About the role

Old Mutual is hiring a Financial Consultant in George who provides advice on a specific range of products to a specific allocated market and is individually accountable for achieving results through their own efforts. The role covers customer service, prospecting, relationship building and business development.

Key responsibilities

• Handle simple customer inquiries and refer more complex matters to colleagues
• Keep customer details in the CRM system accurate and record follow-up actions and notes from each sales call
• Interview customers using a multilevel sales script to clarify their needs
• Call potential customers by telephone or in person to build relationships and act as first point of contact for queries and complaints
• Follow mandatory procedures and comply with external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct
• Support business development and identify potential customers through information, referrals and recommendations from existing customers
• Select and enter data into spreadsheets or standard formats and contribute to a network of people, technologies and ideas inside and outside the company

Required profile

• National Certificate (Nat Cert) required
• Appointments are made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit
