Financial Analyst – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Financial Analyst to join a fast‑growing renewable energy business in Cape Town. The role will focus on building and maintaining financial models that support investment decisions across a portfolio of large‑scale renewable projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance detailed financial models for renewable energy projects.
• Perform project valuations, scenario analysis and feasibility assessments.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
• Prepare investment committee packs and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyse project performance and provide commercial recommendations.
• Collaborate with development, commercial and executive teams to inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or Financial Modeller.
• Proven track record in financial modelling; CFA qualification or progress is a plus.
• Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, project finance or investment environments is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel financial modelling.
• Exposure to Power BI and other financial modelling software.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
