Financial Accountant (CA(SA)/CIMA) – Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join a property development company in Cape Town. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing month‑end processes and supporting audit activities for multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements for several business operations and entities, ensuring compliance with external audit standards.
• Perform general accounting functions, including monthly reconciliations, management accounts and supporting schedules.
• Compile audit files and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Handle tax accounting matters such as VAT, income tax and provisional tax reconciliations.
• Record and monitor corporate, inter‑company and shareholder loans, including interest calculations.
• Oversee loan account allocations and ensure proper documentation.
• Assist with cash‑flow monitoring, creditor payments, debtor management and overall financial administration.

Required profile

• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the property development sector.
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans.
• Ability to work closely with management and external professional advisers.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Xero accounting software.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range of R50,000 – R60,000 per month.
