Finance Manager – Food Manufacturing & Retail

About the role

We are a fast‑growing food manufacturing and retail supply business seeking a hands‑on Finance Manager to own and scale our finance function. Reporting directly to the Company Directors, you will provide commercial visibility and strategic financial leadership as the company expands its production capacity and retail footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts, budgets and financial forecasts.
• Manage standard costing models, perform detailed variance analysis and maintain bills of materials (BOM).
• Track purchase price variances and oversee inventory control, including monthly stock reconciliations.
• Ensure statutory compliance and timely submissions for VAT, PAYE and EMP201.
• Lead the design and roll‑out of a scalable inventory management system.

Required profile

• Qualified CA(SA), CGMA, AGA(SA), PA(SA) or BCom Accounting degree.
• Minimum 2 years post‑articles or equivalent financial management experience.
• Proven accounting experience in a product‑based environment such as food manufacturing, FMCG or retail.
• Practical, hands‑on experience with standard costing, variance analysis and BOM management.
