Finance Manager – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term in Mining

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to lead the finance function of a mining operation in Gauteng. The role reports to senior management and is responsible for comprehensive financial oversight, reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily, monthly and year‑end accounting processes.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Coordinate annual financial statements and audit requirements.
• Manage audit queries and ensure timely resolution.
• Review and submit statutory returns, including VAT and PAYE.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, legal and financial reporting requirements.
• Manage cash flow, creditors and debtors.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and administrative processes.
• Lead, develop and manage the finance team.
• Provide financial analysis and support to senior management for decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with industry reporting and governance requirements.

Required profile

• Grade 12 and a relevant degree in Accounting, Financial Management or a related field.
• 5–8 years of finance experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
• Mandatory experience in the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, management accounting, taxation and statutory compliance.
• Valid driver’s licence.

What we offer

• Salary range R900 000 – R1 300 000 per annum.
