Finance Director – Category Profitability Lead

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the profitability agenda for the category, balancing strategic imperatives with day‑to‑day financial management. You will generate insights, support the Category Strategy, and ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting across factory‑based and shared‑service teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ongoing analysis of actual results versus plan, identifying risks and opportunities and recommending corrective actions.
• Support category teams through the planning process, including situation analysis, brand plan evaluation, and resource allocation.
• Ensure investment decisions are financially evaluated and aligned with long‑term portfolio profitability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver capital‑expenditure plans and support the PS&OP process.
• Promote robust control and governance, ensuring compliance with policies and achieving strong audit outcomes.
• Review and approve category expenditures, manage trade‑spending limits, and present monthly financial packs to the Category Exco.
• Lead and develop the finance team (factory‑based and shared services) to meet financial output commitments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance leadership, preferably within a product or category environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence internal customers and drive performance.
• Track record of delivering accurate forecasts, meeting reporting deadlines, and improving profitability.
