Finance Accountant – In‑House (Hybrid)

About the role

Discovery’s In‑House Finance team is looking for a Finance Accountant to own the full financial reporting cycle for a portfolio of restricted medical schemes. The role is primarily remote with occasional office attendance, offering a dynamic environment where self‑driven professionals thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journals and management accounts for multiple medical schemes.
• Execute month‑end reconciliations for balance‑sheet and income‑statement items.
• Complete and submit statutory returns on time.
• Liaise with external parties such as clients, auditors, and service providers.
• Maintain and enhance internal financial controls.

Required profile

• Attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
• Reliable, motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time‑management and ability to collaborate within a team.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level).
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook.
• Familiarity with Sage Pastel (advantageous).
