Experienced Waiter - Casual and Event Work

About the role

Bosse Events is a professional event management and staffing agency based in Durban North, supplying experienced hospitality staff for corporate functions, private events, restaurants, premium lounges, VIP experiences and large-scale events across KwaZulu-Natal. It is recruiting experienced waiters for regular casual and event-based work, with a preference for candidates with strong restaurant, fine dining, silver service or premium hospitality experience. Successful applicants must handle their own tables, take orders, interact with guests and deliver excellent service without constant supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide professional table service.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders.
• Operate GAAP POS systems.
• Set tables according to venue and event requirements.
• Serve food, wine and beverages professionally.
• Clear and reset tables efficiently.
• Handle customer requests and special dietary requirements.
• Assist with restaurant and event setup and breakdown.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, grooming and presentation.
• Follow service instructions from onsite managers.
• Provide attentive service to VIP and high-profile guests.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of proven waiter experience.
• Experience in established restaurants, hotels, fine dining establishments or premium hospitality venues.
• Confident taking orders and managing multiple tables.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in a busy service environment.
• Professional grooming and presentation.
• Reliable transport to and from venues.
• Availability for weekday, evening and weekend shifts.
• Contactable references from previous hospitality employers.

Required skills

• GAAP POS experience strongly preferred.
• Silver service or fine dining experience highly advantageous.
