Receptionist / Night Auditor

About the role

This full-time position covers all reception and night audit duties, plus any extra tasks assigned by management. It aims to make every guest a returning and referring guest, welcoming and registering guests, answering calls, managing departures, processing reservations, promoting room sales and carrying out front office administration. The job involves long hours and shifts as required by the hospitality industry.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver courteous and efficient service to guests and suppliers in line with the company's vision, values and service standards.
• Handle money and authorise the dispensing and depositing of company funds, so a fraud and credit check is required.
• Execute administrative and accounting tasks to the required standard, maintaining internal controls and safeguarding revenue.
• Process and store documentation and correspondence according to company policy.
• Maintain brand and group standards across the hotels and share ideas that could improve products, service, productivity and efficiency.
• Build professional relationships with guests, travel agents, corporate clients and tour operators.
• Take part in legislative and operational training and develop personal growth plans.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education; computer literacy is essential, especially with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advantageous: front office or reception experience.
