Bartender - Casual and Event Work

About the role

Bosse Events, an event management and staffing agency based in Durban North, supplies hospitality staff to corporate events, private functions, premium venues, festivals and large events across KwaZulu-Natal. It is recruiting experienced bartenders for ongoing casual and event-based assignments in Durban. Candidates should be confident, reliable and able to work efficiently in busy environments while delivering professional guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Provide efficient bar service during busy events and functions.
• Prepare standard cocktails and mixed drinks.
• Operate GAAP POS systems and process customer payments.
• Manage customer orders accurately.
• Assist with bar setup, stock preparation and closing procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional bar station.
• Follow instructions from onsite managers and bar supervisors.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of proven bartending experience.
• Previous experience in established restaurants, bars, hotels or event venues.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and excellent personal grooming.
• Reliable transport to and from event venues.
• Availability for weekday, evening and weekend shifts.
• Contactable references from previous hospitality employers.

Required skills

• Confident preparation of standard cocktails, spirits, beers, wines and mixed drinks.
• Experience handling card payments and customer transactions.
• GAAP POS experience strongly preferred.
