Experienced Theatre Nurse - Hospital Group, Kathu

About the role

The Hospital Group in Kathu, Northern Cape, is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse for its theatre department. The nurse delivers safe, cost-effective patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and provides direct and/or indirect nursing care, assessing, planning, executing and supervising care to meet patient needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care according to the scope of practice and take full responsibility for these activities
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Attend the handover report at the start of each shift
• Communicate clearly with patients about their care
• Promote patient health and wellbeing
• Audit health records to ensure compliance
• Keep stock well controlled, managed, charged and credited correctly
• Maintain good relations with patients, relatives and visitors

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse or Midwife, or an equivalent NQF 7 qualification
• Relevant qualification and experience in a specialist area
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts
• Capacity to uphold health practice standards required by accredited bodies and health legislation
