Enterprise Supplier Development Specialist

About the role

Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager (TRIM) is looking for a Specialist: Enterprise Supplier Development in Johannesburg. The role supports the implementation of BBBEE, Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD), Preferential Procurement and Localisation strategies, and works with the supply chain community to monitor and report on them. It is a non-permanent position, full-time, reporting to the Senior Manager of SD ED and Transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of BBBEE, ESD, Preferential Procurement and Localisation strategy in line with national policy and regulation.
• Liaise with the supply chain community to support implementation, monitoring and reporting of BBBEE and ESD.
• Support supplier development training initiatives to drive compliance within TRIM.
• Track, monitor and report on BBBEE, ESD expenditure, imported spend and local content.
• Support the integrated Supply Chain Management strategy through the Supplier Development Centre of Excellence.
• Research and analyse localisation, BBBEE and ESD opportunities, and support managers in embedding these strategies.
• Help develop ESD and BBBEE strategies, policies and procedures, and commodity-specific initiatives.
• Track implementation of the strategy and policy, assist with the monthly BBBEE and ESD dashboard, and compile reports and success stories.

Required profile

• A relevant bachelor's degree (commercial) or CIPS Level 4.
• Unless competencies are shown through experience, 5 years' experience in a supply management function, ESD, Localisation or BBBEE strategy development.
• Preference given to applicants who are members of the designated groups under the organisation's Employment Equity Plan.
