Embroidery Machinist / Operator – Durban

About the role

Our client, a leading South African manufacturer of branded apparel and promotional merchandise, is seeking an experienced Embroidery Machinist / Operator to join their production team in Durban. You will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining commercial embroidery machines to deliver high‑quality embroidered products on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Set up embroidery machines according to customer specifications, selecting appropriate thread, fabric, frames and designs.
• Load designs, monitor machine performance, and ensure consistent stitch quality throughout production runs.
• Achieve daily production targets while minimizing waste, re‑work and downtime.
• Perform routine inspections, identify equipment faults and carry out basic troubleshooting.
• Record production data accurately and report maintenance needs promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating commercial embroidery machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical drawings and artwork approvals.
• Good problem‑solving skills and the capacity to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Commitment to maintaining high quality standards and meeting production schedules.
