Sampler/Inspector (Intermittent)

About the role

Bureau Veritas is recruiting a Sampler/Inspector on an intermittent contract for its Durban Port facility, reporting to the Shift Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare samples according to instructions and required standards.
• Execute work timely, ethically and efficiently while complying with legislation, customer and client requirements.
• Mark all samples clearly and correctly and ensure proper traceability documentation.
• Conduct regular checks and basic maintenance on sampling and preparation equipment.
• Report detailed breakdowns, delays and any issues to the Supervisor or branch manager.
• Maintain good housekeeping, cleanliness and safety of the work area and equipment.
• Adhere to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality policies and instructions.
• Complete all traceability, quality and safety documentation accurately and on time.

Required profile

• Preferably matric (high school) qualification.
• Medically and physically able to work in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work independently and follow reasonable instructions from management.
• Commitment to company core values, reliability and honesty.
• Able to plan work, communicate effectively and express verbally.
