Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Centurion. The role involves developing electrical systems for medium and heavy‑duty commercial vehicles, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop chassis harnesses for trucks using 3D CAD (Siemens NX) and 2D schematic tools.
• Create vehicle electrical system layouts, 3D wiring designs, and detailed 2D harness drawings.
• Integrate electrical components and evaluate system specifications.
• Prepare bills of materials, 3D assemblies and manage product data in Teamcenter PDM.
• Ensure designs comply with supplier requirements and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project timelines and scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
• Experience in automotive OEM design is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Siemens NX for 3D wiring and harness design.
• Experience using Mentor Graphics Vesys for schematic creation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter PDM.
