Production & Inventory Operations Admin (SAP experience)

About the role

Our client is a global manufacturer of engineered products seeking a Production & Inventory Operations Administrator for its South African operation. The role owns production administration, inventory control, stores management and inbound logistics while leading a small team and linking Production, Sales, Engineering, Finance and the international head office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Inventory Controller and Storeman and oversee all store functions including receiving, storage, picking and dispatch.
• Manage production‑order administration and ensure Bill of Materials accuracy; conduct regular stock takes and investigate variances.
• Monitor stock levels and reorder points, placing authorised replenishment orders with the head office.
• Coordinate inbound freight, customs clearance and import documentation.
• Prepare stock, gross‑profit and supplier‑performance reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Diploma in supply chain, logistics, procurement or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing inventory, production administration, warehousing or logistics, including 2 years in a supervisory ERP role.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Business One, BOMs, production orders, stock‑taking and international freight processes.
• Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations and pivot‑table reporting.
