Driver Trainer

About the role

The client, a leading courier and logistics company, is looking for an experienced Driver Trainer to join its Cape Town operation. The role involves developing, coaching and mentoring drivers while ensuring compliance with company policies, road‑safety legislation and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Train, coach and mentor new and existing drivers.
• Conduct driver inductions, practical assessments and competency evaluations.
• Monitor driver performance, provide corrective coaching and enforce compliance with policies and legislation.
• Deliver defensive driving and safety training programmes.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and driver‑related complaints.
• Identify training needs and implement driver development plans.
• Use telematics and vehicle‑tracking systems to monitor driver behaviour.
• Maintain accurate training records, reports and performance documentation.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s licence with a valid PDP.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Driver Trainer, Fleet Trainer or similar role.
• Previous experience in courier, transport, logistics, fleet or distribution is an advantage.

What we offer

• Monthly salary ranging from R30 000 to R40 000.
