Divisional HR Manager – Central (Retail)

About the role

The Divisional HR Manager will partner with the General Manager and Divisional Sales Managers to deliver professional HR services across the Central SBU (Free State, Northern Cape, North West). You will act as a strategic business partner, providing expert advice on people matters and supporting store teams to drive profitability and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement people plans aligned with business objectives.
• Provide and analyse workforce data to inform decision‑making.
• Offer expert guidance on recruitment, dismissals, CCMA/Labour Commission procedures, and employment equity.
• Forecast HR risks and opportunities, creating action plans with divisional teams and store managers.
• Lead change initiatives to embed the company’s People Strategy.
• Manage talent acquisition, performance management, training coordination, and succession planning.

Required profile

• Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or Social Sciences (essential).
• Diploma in Labour Law (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years experience as an HR Generalist in the retail sector.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and employment equity.
• Demonstrated business and retail understanding.
