Director of Sales & Marketing

About the role

The Director of Sales & Marketing is accountable for the commercial positioning, brand narrative and integrated revenue contribution of Cape Grace, a luxury Fairmont‑managed hotel in Cape Town. This senior role blends the revenue‑driving discipline of a sales leader with the strategic communication expertise of a marketing and PR director.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the hotel’s sales and marketing strategy to achieve total revenue budget across all departments.
• Lead active sales initiatives that generate a significant portion of rooms revenue.
• Partner with the Director of Revenue, Distribution & Reservations and the Executive Committee to align commercial objectives.
• Serve as the primary commercial liaison to the General Manager and support the Hotel Manager on all commercial matters in the GM’s absence.
• Oversee brand storytelling, public relations and luxury marketing communications.
• Prepare ownership reporting and represent the property confidently to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in sales and marketing within luxury hospitality.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering revenue growth and profitability.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence executive decision‑making.
• Excellent communication skills and a reputation for ethical, collaborative teamwork.
