Desktop Support Technician

About the role

Disruptive IT (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced Desktop Support Technician to join a leading enterprise IT environment in Cape Town. The role involves providing hands‑on, on‑site support to end‑users, ensuring their desktop and peripheral devices operate smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site desktop and end‑user support.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot desktops, laptops and peripheral devices.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and operating system issues.
• Support Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Perform device installations, replacements and upgrades.
• Configure printers, scanners and other IT peripherals.
• Administer user accounts and perform password resets.
• Log, update and resolve incidents in the IT Service Management (ITSM) system.
• Escalate complex technical issues when required.
• Maintain SLA compliance and deliver excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Relevant IT qualification (A+, N+, Diploma or equivalent) is advantageous.
• 2–3 years of experience in Desktop Support or End‑User Computing.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
• Basic networking knowledge.
• Experience with Active Directory user administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests.
• Immediate availability, valid South African driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle and clear criminal record.
