Data Security Solutions Architect

About the role

A leading Value-Added Distributor of information security solutions and services, which sells to enterprises across sub-Saharan Africa, is hiring a Data Security Solutions Architect in South Africa. The role engages prospective and current clients, delivers presentations and demonstrations, and gives expert insight into the company's products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical subject matter expert for the Data Security domain during customer calls and presentations, working with the Sales team
• Consult on best practices and give constructive direction for solution architecture and design
• Stay up to date on competitive solutions, products and services
• Drive customer success with real-world knowledge and recommendations
• Work with post-sales teams so customers realise the value of the data security solutions
• Help capture and articulate customer and prospect feedback on product enhancements
• Document security governance processes and work instructions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a known or affiliated university
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to executives, business stakeholders and technology practitioners
• Passion for demonstrating solutions and giving technical input during the sales process
• Experience of 3-5 years in a related field, ideally with a system integrator or OEM in a customer-facing role; experience with a system integrator or OEM is an advantage

Required skills

• Broad understanding of enterprise data architecture, privacy and security technologies
• Ability to plan, run and close a Proof of Concept with minimal supervision
• Excellent customer-facing communication, organisation and troubleshooting skills
• Preferred: experience with RDBMS, MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Hadoop, AWS/Azure, Linux/Docker, Imperva DAM DBF & WAF, PKI, OWASP Top Ten, penetration testing, SQL databases and cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, IAPP, Security+, CEH, SSCP
