Customer Order Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Customer Order Specialist to own the end‑to‑end order process, from receipt through production, dispatch and final delivery. In this fast‑paced position you will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure orders are accurate, on schedule, and delivered to the right place.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full order lifecycle, from receipt to delivery, using the company ERP system.
• Capture and process customer orders accurately, checking stock availability and flagging potential shortages.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Warehouse and Logistics to meet required timelines.
• Monitor production and dispatch schedules, following up as needed.
• Track shipments and communicate order status, delivery dates and any delays to customers.
• Handle returns, discrepancies and order‑related queries efficiently.
• Maintain strong relationships with both customers and internal teams.
• Identify problems early, take corrective action and see issues through to resolution.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, efficient and takes ownership of tasks.
• Experience in a small organisation where you were closely involved in day‑to‑day operations.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
• Proactive problem‑solver who does not wait for instructions.
• Confident communicator with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Customer‑focused and committed to delivering on promises.

Required skills

• Experience with an ERP, MRP or similar order‑management system.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office suite.
• High computer literacy and comfort working with business systems.
