About the role
The Customer Group Leader will act as the commercial architect for Colgate‑Palmolive’s most significant accounts in South Africa. You will navigate a complex route‑to‑market landscape, drive deep distribution, and build high‑level strategic partnerships to deliver aggressive commercial growth.
Key responsibilities
- Distribution Mastery – optimise product availability and visibility across complex RTM environments.
- Joint Value Planning – lead the creation and execution of comprehensive business plans with key customers.
- Expert Negotiation – manage high‑stakes commercial negotiations, trade spend and pricing structures to protect margins.
- Relationship Management – build and sustain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Execution Excellence – ensure flawless delivery of commercial initiatives through cross‑functional leadership.
- Customer Development – implement strategies aligned with organisational vision across brands, categories and channels.
Required profile
- Proven experience in indirect trade sales and managing large customer groups.
- Track record of achieving sales, profitability and market‑share targets.
- Ability to develop, implement and monitor approved business plans.
- Strong commercial acumen with focus on budget achievement and distributor payment compliance.
