Cost Accountant – Manufacturing (Gauteng)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join a well‑established manufacturing company in Gauteng. The role focuses on analysing costs, improving processes and providing financial insights that support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the cost accounting system and ensure accurate costing records.
• Reconcile cost accounts, analyse manufacturing and inventory variances, and prepare monthly cost reports.
• Manage inventory control, conduct stock takes and report variances.
• Cost imported goods, raw materials, manufactured products and services; maintain standard costing and variance reporting.
• Prepare annual standard cost budgets and develop cost reporting to aid operational decisions.
• Liaise with production, procurement and other departments to ensure costing accuracy.
• Support the Operations Financial Manager with financial reporting and analysis, producing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.
• CIMA Level 2 (non‑negotiable).
• 7–10 years of experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is an advantage.
• Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
