Construction Manager – High Voltage Transmission Projects

About the role

Eskom is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead high‑voltage transmission and substation projects in Bloemfontein. You will be responsible for delivering complex infrastructure safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and manage all on‑site construction activities.
• Plan daily site operations, allocate labour, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with Eskom/NTCSA specifications, ORHVS requirements, SHEQ standards and relevant legislation.
• Monitor schedules, identify delays and risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate outages, switching operations, permits and access with stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections, quality audits and progress assessments.
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce SHEQ policies.
• Review and approve method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs) and other construction documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing high‑voltage transmission or substation projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise site teams and subcontractors.
• Valid ORHVS certification and a solid understanding of SHEQ regulations.
• Excellent risk‑assessment and problem‑solving abilities.
