Construction Health & Safety Manager

About the role

Bantubani Group, a leading provider of routine road maintenance and road construction services in South Africa, is seeking a qualified Construction Health and Safety Manager to join its professional register. The role will support high‑value infrastructure projects on a project‑by‑project basis, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain health and safety management systems across all construction sites.
• Audit health and safety files, conduct site inspections and facilitate client audits.
• Record, report and investigate all accidents and incidents, and drive corrective and preventative actions.
• Develop and approve safety files, conduct inductions for subcontractors, and ensure OHS compliance.
• Lead emergency preparedness drills, adapt OHS documents to client requirements, and identify risks.
• Conduct risk and hazard assessments, develop safe work procedures, and oversee corrective actions.
• Organise site‑related training, toolbox talks, and attend monthly site and committee meetings.
• Travel regularly between multiple project sites.

Required profile

• Registered Construction Health and Safety Officer/Manager with SACPCMP registration (Section 17 of the OHS Act).
• Minimum three years of relevant experience.
• Degree, diploma or certificates in a health and safety discipline.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office suite.
