About the role
The Commercial Operations Manager will provide commercial support for all operational aspects of the feed business, ensuring accurate product costing, robust financial reporting and effective cost control across our mills.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and audit standard product costs in collaboration with mill‑based management accounting, procurement and technical teams.
- Analyse monthly variance reports, highlight discrepancies and drive corrective actions to optimise margins.
- Prepare quarterly standard costing processes and review product routings to allocate correct production costs.
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports and monthly financial performance commentary for mill management.
- Support annual business planning, quarterly forecasting and expense budgeting in line with national guidelines.
- Calculate ROI for capital projects, manage the Capex process and ensure alignment with group investment strategy.
- Monitor cost against budget/forecast, identify savings opportunities and influence line management to eliminate waste.
Required profile
- Professional qualification: CIMA or CA (South Africa).
- 4–5 years of management accounting experience, preferably in processing or manufacturing environments.
- Experience with SAP and margin analysis is an advantage.
