Commercial Manager

About the role

The Automotive Steel Manufacturer is looking for a dynamic Commercial Manager to lead commercial operations, drive business growth and strengthen relationships with customers and suppliers in the automotive sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
• Conduct market research and commercial due diligence for new projects.
• Lead negotiations with customers and suppliers and manage the full commercial lifecycle from quotation to contract execution.
• Oversee budgets, pricing strategies, product costing and prepare competitive quotations.
• Monitor KPIs, financial performance and prepare forecasts, ROI, IRR and DCF analyses.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead, coach and develop the commercial team while ensuring compliance with policies, legal and safety standards.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and ensure BBBEE compliance.

Required profile

• Matric or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in commercial management or a similar leadership role.
• Proven experience in automotive manufacturing, preferably with OEMs.
• Strong understanding of automotive supply chain, logistics and financial analysis.

Required skills

• SAP (ERP system) knowledge.
• ERP systems familiarity.
