Cloud Engineer – Azure & DevOps (Hybrid, Sandton)

About the role

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer who enjoys building robust, scalable environments. You will work across enterprise‑scale Azure platforms, automation, and modern DevOps practices within a hybrid and multi‑cloud landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Develop and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Architect and support hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
• Ensure security, networking, and compliance across cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise cloud performance and cost efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and support to cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑400) preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud engineering with strong Azure exposure.
• Proven experience in DevOps environments and automation practices.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, security).
• Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
• Infrastructure as Code – Terraform or similar.
• Configuration management – Ansible.
• Containerisation – Docker, Kubernetes.
• Scripting – PowerShell, Python, Bash.
• Networking concepts – VPNs, load balancing, firewalls, routing.
