About the role

The Clinical Nurse (R/N) Scrub – Theatre provides holistic, person‑centred nursing care to patients, families and the community at Netcare Alberlito Hospital. The role involves assessment, planning and implementation of individualized care while coordinating with a multidisciplinary health team.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical resource to assist staff in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting nursing care.
• Ensure clear communication with patients, families and health professionals, acting as a patient advocate when needed.
• Facilitate communication between nursing management and the unit to resolve care issues.
• Assess, plan and deliver advanced nursing care in accordance with SOPs, nursing theories and medical direction.
• Initiate, direct and maintain emergency treatment (RESUS) across any hospital ward or department.
• Interview patients and families to gather background information and identify problems.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification (R/N).
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of nursing theories, holistic care principles and standard operating procedures.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with families and health professionals.

• Resuscitation (RESUS) techniques.
• Scrub nursing in a theatre environment.
• Patient assessment and clinical documentation.
