Clinical Nurse (R/N) – PB Qualified – ICU Neuro (12‑Month Contract)

About the role

The Professional/Clinical Nurse (R/N) with a post‑basic qualification will join the Neuro ICU at Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role involves delivering holistic, person‑centred nursing care to critically ill neuro patients and supporting their families within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care for neuro ICU patients.
• Act as a clinical resource, guiding staff in documentation and care processes.
• Coordinate communication between patients, families, and health professionals, advocating for optimal care.
• Maintain liaison with nursing management to resolve patient‑care issues.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) across the hospital as required.
• Ensure adherence to unit SOPs, nursing standards and medical directives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) with a post‑basic qualification relevant to critical care or neuro nursing.
• Experience in an ICU or high‑dependency setting is preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with families and health professionals.

Required skills

• RESUS (emergency resuscitation) competence.
