Clinical Nurse (R/N) – PB Qualified – 12‑Month ICU Neuro

About the role

The Professional Nurse/Clinical Nurse in the Neuro ICU provides holistic, person‑centred care to critically ill patients and their families. This 12‑month, post‑basic qualified position is based at Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital and works within a multidisciplinary health team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care for neuro‑critical patients.
• Coordinate patient care across the multidisciplinary team and act as a clinical resource for staff.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, families and health professionals, advocating for optimal care.
• Document nursing interventions and ensure compliance with unit SOPs and nursing standards.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) across the hospital as required.
• Support nursing management by reporting and resolving patient‑care issues.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) with a post‑basic qualification relevant to critical care.
• Experience in an ICU, preferably neuro‑intensive care.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient advocacy.
