Clinical Nurse – Experienced Theatre Recovery

About the role

The Professional Nurse/Clinical Nurse at Netcare Kingsway Hospital provides holistic, person‑centred care to patients recovering from theatre procedures. The role involves assessing, planning and implementing individualized nursing care while coordinating with a multidisciplinary health team.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical resource, assisting staff with assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of nursing care.
• Facilitate communication between patients, families, health professionals and nursing management to ensure optimal care.
• Implement advanced nursing care in accordance with SOPs, nursing theories and medical direction.
• Initiate, direct and maintain emergency treatment (RESUS) for any patient in the hospital.
• Interview patients and families to gather background information and identify immediate and long‑term needs.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) with experience in theatre recovery.
• Ability to coordinate patient care within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong patient‑advocacy skills and commitment to holistic care.
• Capability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
