About the role
Exciting vacancy exists within an up‑market 5‑star restaurant located on the Garden Route in George. The role involves managing a professional kitchen, preparing bistro‑style and Italian‑inspired cuisine, planning menus, creating daily chef specials, costing dishes, ordering supplies, negotiating prices, interacting with guests and liaising with the directors.
Key responsibilities
- Plan menus and prepare daily chef specials.
- Prepare bistro‑type and Italian‑inspired cuisine.
- Cost dishes and manage budgeting.
- Place orders with suppliers and negotiate pricing.
- Interact with guests and liaise with directors.
- Lead and support the kitchen team.
Required profile
- Qualified and experienced chef capable of managing a kitchen.
- Experience preparing bistro‑type and Italian‑inspired dishes.
- Ability to work in an up‑market restaurant environment.
