Capital Sales Engineer - Mining & Mineral Processing

About the role

GEOTECH is seeking a Capital Sales Engineer to join its Business Development team in Cape Town. The role blends technical engineering knowledge with commercial sales expertise to identify, design, and close capital‑equipment opportunities within the mining and mineral‑processing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new mining projects and capital‑equipment opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with mine operators, engineering consultancies, and EPC firms.
• Analyse client processes, throughput, and equipment requirements to develop suitable technical solutions.
• Prepare fully costed technical and commercial proposals, including CAPEX, OPEX and lifecycle costing.
• Deliver technical presentations, site assessments and support commercial negotiations.
• Manage the opportunity pipeline and ensure smooth hand‑over to project execution.
• Represent GEOTECH at industry exhibitions and events.

Required profile

• BEng or BTech in Mechanical, Mining, Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of tender and capital‑sales experience.
• Experience with capital equipment in mining or heavy engineering.
• Exposure to crushing and comminution equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to travel locally and internationally; valid Code B driver’s licence and passport.
