About the role

We are seeking an experienced Trade Tested Can Maker to lead our can‑making production line in Johannesburg South. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality cans, optimizing machine performance, and maintaining a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and supervise the can‑making production line.
• Ensure products meet quality specifications and reduce spoilage.
• Conduct quality inspections and work with the Quality department to resolve issues.
• Set up machines, perform line changeovers, and monitor raw‑material availability.
• Track machine performance, report maintenance needs, and coordinate planned maintenance.
• Supervise and coach production operators, ensuring proper scanning and transfer of finished goods to the warehouse.
• Monitor consumables, control waste, and promote safe working practices.
• Maintain good housekeeping and encourage teamwork on the line.

Required profile

• Trade Tested Can Maker with at least 6 years post‑trade experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of can‑making machinery and production processes.
• Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
