CAD & PLM Administrator – Engineering Systems

About the role

Denel Land Systems is seeking a CAD & PLM Administrator to enable engineering excellence, optimise digital design, and drive process innovation across advanced defence programmes. You will manage critical CAD and PLM platforms, support engineering teams, and ensure robust control of design data and product lifecycle information.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise CAD and PLM environments, including Creo, NX, Windchill and Teamcenter.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting and fault resolution for CAD, PLM and system integrations.
• Assist engineers with 3D modelling, design data management, classification, release processes and configuration control.
• Maintain product structures, Bills of Material (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Administer user access, licences, software updates and version control.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO and company engineering standards.
• Maintain drawing templates (DLS, DVS) and evaluate CAD/PLM improvements aligned with best practices.
• Support engineering strategy initiatives, technology upgrades and process optimisation.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science (NQF Level 6).
• Minimum 5 years of CAD and/or PLM administration experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Creo, NX, Windchill and Teamcenter or comparable platforms.
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management, configuration control and engineering data management.
• Understanding of defence industry standards and engineering practices.
• Experience with ERP implementation and support, user‑access management and technical training.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.
