Business Development Manager - MICE/ events

About the role

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to expand the client base of a fast‑growing events company that delivers conferences, product launches, gala dinners, audiovisual productions and large‑scale corporate events. You will work directly with the owners, identify new opportunities, and build long‑term relationships with corporate clients and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities within the corporate market.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event agencies, venues and strategic partners.
• Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline and prepare tailored proposals.
• Attend networking events and industry functions to increase company visibility.
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure seamless project handovers.
• Develop strategies to increase market share and revenue.
• Monitor industry trends and competitor activity.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in business development, sales or account management.
• Background in corporate events, audiovisual, exhibition, conferencing or hospitality.
• Proven track record of winning new business and nurturing long‑term client relationships.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and communication abilities.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven and commercially minded.
• Valid driver’s licence with reliable transport.
• Based in Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand, Johannesburg or surrounding areas.
