Business Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive product growth and commercialisation across DTC, B2B and marketplace channels. You will partner with product, delivery and leadership teams to bring new offerings to market and build a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product and leadership to define value proposition, pricing, pitch decks and sales processes for new products.
• Create and maintain product‑specific sales assets such as one‑pagers, demo flows and proposal templates for DTC, B2B and marketplaces (e.g., Takealot, Amazon).
• Develop go‑to‑market plans including positioning, target client lists, sequencing and sales enablement.
• Source new business through inbound and outbound lead generation, manage the full sales cycle and handover to project management.
• Run AI‑led outbound prospecting using tools like Apollo, Clay, Instantly, ChatGPT/Claude and lead‑enrichment platforms.
• Design multi‑channel outreach sequences, research target accounts and continuously optimise open, reply and meeting rates.
• Collaborate with Head of Sales/CCO to close deals on eCommerce builds, digital contracts, marketplace enablement and product‑led offerings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or sales within eCommerce, digital contracts or marketplace environments.
• Strong ability to translate product features into compelling commercial narratives.
• Track record of managing a pipeline and meeting sales targets.
• Comfortable working cross‑functionally with product, delivery and leadership teams.
