Business Development Manager – Commodities

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Commodities will drive growth across wholesale, retail distribution, food manufacturing and industrial sectors. You will identify new opportunities, build strategic customer relationships and deliver sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the target sectors.
• Grow market share through strategic customer acquisition and relationship management.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet volume, revenue and profitability goals.
• Negotiate supply agreements, pricing structures and commercial terms.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer buying patterns.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, finance and customer service to ensure seamless order execution.
• Prepare sales forecasts and demand projections.
• Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings and trade exhibitions.
• Drive customer satisfaction through proactive account management.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Sales or a related commercial field.
• Strong commercial and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
